As a savvy shopper, when I make purchases online I search around for the best price. Beyond that, I actually do a separate search for coupon codes if there is a spot for it when checking out. With major retailers you can usually find freely available valid codes which can save you 10 or 20 percent per purchase (on a good day), so it's never a bad idea (especially on large purchases). It seems to me though, that there are so many new coupon sites popping up (couponmountain, hotcoupons, couponsurfer, wow-coupons, etc...) that it's hard to find a good one which encompasses all the major sites (and many minor ones) and consistently has ALL the current promotions and coupons easily located! Time is money, so you don't want to spend all day searching a billion sites just to save a couple bucks!

Enter www.currentcodes.com. Much like the stock market: "Past results do not indicate future success," but I've found codes here that I haven't found on any the other sites, and they've always had the "popular" codes that I found elsewhere, making it a one-stop-shop for coupon/discount codes.

Check it out and let me know how it works for you!
Happy Shopping and Saving!

Let's Talk is an appropriate name for the company, since that's all they have gotten done so far - I call, we talk.

This is the epinions.com review I wrote on Thursday morning:
--------------------
I've had to call them 7 times already about an order I placed 7 days ago. On the letstalk.com website, they claim that "most phones ship in 24 hours." Seeing as the slowest shipping they offer is 2nd-day, I expected to receive the phones within 4 days at the worst case scenario (the order was placed on a Friday). The phones still haven't even been "activated and programmed," but will "probably ship within 24 hours," according to the latest customer service representative I just got off the phone with. They don't answer their phone without at least a 5 minute hold time before 10am CST and every single rep I've talked to has been incompetent - they continually put you back on hold for minutes at a time to figure out what the issue is (if there isn't a large BOLD print problem flashing on your computer screen when you pull up my account, why did I get an email saying there's a problem and more importantly, WHY HAVEN'T MY PHONES SHIPPED!?) If I have to call them one more time to have them switch an address around, or give them information they already have, I'm canceling the order altogether!
-------------------

This is the email body I received around noon that day:
-------------------
Dear Customer,

Thank you for your patience. Your phone has just been activated. It is now ready for shipment.

You should receive a shipment confirmation email with the tracking number shortly.

Sincerely,

Customer Service
-------------------

AT&T called me on Saturday to get the information about porting my number and everything was approved. That representative told me that once I got the phones, they would be ready to activate and have all the instructions with them. Seemed logical enough. No one ever mentioned at letstalk that I wouldn't have a phone while the new ones were in transit if I port my number up front. That's the most idiotic thing I could ever think a company would do!

So now with the impending Christmas holiday, I'm looking at not having a phone, besides my roommate's VOIP house phone, until possibly the 26th! I hate letstalk.com, I will never do business with them again! I am advising you to stay as far away as you can from letstalk unless you love struggling with representatives who are totally incompetent and unhelpful. I've talked to 10 of them so far, so I feel like I have a pretty good idea of the norm. Sure the website is easy and the deals seem great, but you'll pay for it in heartache in the long-run!!

::UPDATE:: It never got any better. The phones finally arrived but I'm still working through all the mess. I called ATT today to get a credit since my account officially started when the phones were activated, not when I received them. If I hadn't, it would have cost me $15 just for the time the phones were in transit. There's more I'd love to complain about with Letstalk.com, but I'll spare you unless you really want to know. Leave a comment if you personally want to hear me vent the rest.

So you're just not getting any traffic to your blog, what do you do? I've posted about this before and it's probably the largest problem facing new bloggers (particularly those who want to blog-for-profit). The following idea is sort of related to the Golden Rule and the post I linked above. Give other bloggers traffic and you will reap the benefits. Put simply: get involved in blogger communities. You'll probably want to start with MyBlogLog and BlogCatalog. Most importantly, as with anything else, HAVE FUN!

Here are some of the return links I've received:

And here are some more:

This first link is a video of a blue specter at a gas station in Ohio. Check it out, definitely something you don't see everyday...maybe something you never see.

Here's a link I received via email from a friend. It's a little lengthy for my attention span, but once I got into it I found some pretty amusing anecdotes, which kept me reading.

Finally, here's another email link to some slightly sadder news about a prominent gameshow figurehead - Alex Trebek.
(don't worry, he's not dead....yet)

I've heard quite a bit about ethanol as an alternative (or supplementary) fuel, especially in the last couple years, but for the first time I actually found something positive said about it. Check out this site for all your ethanol queries.

Man sentenced in bizarre diagnosing scam

MONROE, La. (AP) -- A man was sentenced to more than four years in prison for bilking friends and family out of more than $800,000 by convincing them that his wife was a government agent who could arrange to have their medical problems diagnosed by satellite imaging.

Rayville, was sentenced in federal court in Monroe to serve 51 months in prison followed by three years of supervised release. His wife, Stacey Finley, was sentenced in August to spend 63 months in prison and both are ordered to jointly pay restitution in the amount of $873,786.94.

The Finleys pleaded guilty in August to wire fraud, according to court records.

U.S. Attorney Donald W. Washington said in a news release following Monday's sentencing of Brent Finley that the couple convinced numerous people that Stacey Finley was a CIA agent and with her contacts she could schedule a medical scan of the victims' bodies by satellite imaging that would detect any hidden medical problems.

The Finley's convinced their victims that, if any medical problems were found, secret agents would administer medicine to them as they slept in exchange for payment, according to a bill of information filed when the Finleys were charged in May.

"These audacious criminals should remind all of us that scam artists will go to great lengths to take our life's savings," Washington said.

...JUST GOT EASIER!

- As a new blogger, it's easy to spend hours (days/weeks/months) searching for and establishing accounts for sites/services which will help your blog reach the world (and eventually help you cash in on your hard work) - FACT.
- There are fishy sites/services out there which won't help you at all and will actually waste your precious time while potentially sharing all your info with unscrupulous advertisers wishing to cash in on you with spam or other immoral tactics - FACT.

So isn't it nice to find something hearty and wholesome that you can feel good about at the end of the day?

Introducing:

It's a great way for bloggers to get free access to clicks/traffic/other blogs. Of course if you're a lazy blogger (is that possible?) then you can always pay for the service, and it's very affordable at only $2/year with a 10-year package. So it boils down to "sacrificing" $20 or a blog post about them, in order to get 10 years of a fantastic service! I say do it today!

Mayors around America (and the World) Honor World Hypnotism Day!

Dear [somebodyunfamous]:

Mayors of the following 10 cities (ok, nine mayors and one county council) have issued Proclamations to honor the fourth World Hypnotism Day, January 4th, 2008. Three more municipalities are reported ready to announce, including the first international city. (Go to the Pnosis homepage beneath breaking news for regular updates up to and in the aftermath of January 4th.)

Pnosis places these cities, their mayors, and the hypnotists who requested a proclamation on the Pnosis Honor Roll in the order in which the Proclamations were issued. (Dazzling Wendy Packer won an official Pnosis Teddy Bear for being the first. Hi Wendy!) Here's a sample from West Fargo:

PNOSIS WORLD HYPNOTISM DAY HONOR ROLL:

New Rochelle, NY, introduced by Wendy Packer;

Berkeley, CA, by Debi Livingston;

Danbury, CT, by Stephanie Dalfonzo;

Greenfield, MA, by Jean Conway;

Pinellas County, FL, by Debbie Lane;

West Fargo, ND, Mayor RIch Mattern, by Tracy Holwagner;

Eastchester, NY, by Janice Matturo;

Oyster Bay, NY, by Roch Preite;

Buckland, MA, by Debbie Yaffee;

Williston Park, NY, by Marc Carlin.

World Hypnotism Day founder Tom Nicoli chose January 4th as a perfect time for people to learn the safe, natural and effective way to create healthy habits and created the now famous World Hypnotism Day. Professional hypnotists in scores of nations hold events to celebrate hypnosis and educate the public free of charge or at nominal cost. www.worldhypnotismday.com offers free resources and sample hypnosis audio downloads. Enter your first name and email address and they are yours, free. The website also offers free e-books and an Events search engine.

World Hypnotism Day and Pnosis are not formally affiliated. (Pnosis's publisher was recently asked to serve on its steering committee, and agreed. Pnosis feels honored but hopes this is not Nicoli's way of getting extra work out of him.)

Ask your own Mayor for a Proclamation Today!

Us@Pnosis.com

PS, It is usually easy to get a WHD Proclamation from your mayor, whether you are a practitioner or a subject. How to? Go to www.worldhypnotismday.com, register, and go look for the package on how to. Takes about 5 - 10 minutes all together. A Proclamation is a nice thing to put on your wall and makes a great topic for a press release or talk radio appearance. But time is running out!

So go for the Gold (Seal). And when you get yours, don't forget to tell Pnosis so we can add you to the Honor Roll on Page One, which Pnosis will regularly update.

If you don't have any idea what a Redbox is, then you probably don't need this link. However, if you have an inkling that it's a large red box stocked with current releases you can rent for only $1 a day, then you've come to the right place!!

There are imitators, but Redbox is featured at McDonald's, so it's easily one of the most popular. It also has a quirky feature that allows you to put in codes for free rentals! A site was created to catalogue all the codes, and it goes a couple steps further than just being a text-based list:

1) It allows you to report when you use a code (if it works or not, and where), then updates the list with the probability of each code actually working for you, and

2) It allows you to select your state to find the codes valid for your area.

Here you go, enjoy!

So here's a handy reference to help you save the world, with nothing more than a click of your mouse. That's right, no signing up, no survey, no donation of anything else but your time and the energy it takes to click the button on your mouse. Why not do something good today!?
